David Collins Adetutu, a digital artist, uses fluid movement and unpredictability in his artwork to express emotions.
According to his journey, he began drawing faces showing different emotions of how he felt, which became the foundation of his art.
He then advanced to using abstract fluids and colors to capture his feelings. His most fascinating works include “Euphoria,” “Will,” and “Flicker in Decay.”
“Euphoria” features vibrant colors and fluid movement, symbolizing free will and the idea that life doesn’t follow a strict pattern and defined movement. His use of colors shows personal emotions from calmness to chaos, reflecting his life experiences. The blend of colors and movement in his art suggest an emotional tide, maybe passion, uncertainty, fear, peace, sadness etc.
“Will” and “Flicker in Decay” explore life events, showing a mix of chaos, free will, and calmness, all aimed at finding purpose. Looking both at these two artworks, the lit candle and matchstick against dark backgrounds could indeed symbolize a breakthrough or hope amidst darkness, suggesting a light at the end of the tunnel. The fluidity in his work might represent adaptability and acceptance of change, reflecting a positive outlook despite challenges.
While the vibrant colors and fluidity of David’s artwork naturally draw people in, understanding the deeper emotional layers might be more challenging. That brings the question if his use of color and fluidity helps convey his emotions effectively. Maybe those who take the time to explore his work more deeply may begin to appreciate the personal emotions and life experiences he has embedded in his art.
