Why we floated PTV records in Ibadan —Prince Tom

Published by

Penultimate weekend, a new record label, Prince Tom Verified Records (PTVR) birthed in Ibadan with the mission to contribute to the fast growing music business in the capital city.

The label, which is owned by Tomisin Olusanya Mutalib, also known as Prince Tom was floated to serve as platforms for up and coming artistes, who don’t have the wherewhital to push their music career to the next level.

At a time when most record label owners are scampering to Lagos State to join the league of record label owners in the state of excellence, Olusanya Oluwatomisin Multalib, a music lover and entrepreneur, PTV saw the need to come to Ibadan to build a new music empire that would give voice to many talented music artistes in Ibadan and its environs with the view to supporting them to maximise their potentials fully.

When speaking with R in a brief chat, Prince Tom, who returned to Nigeria from Australia to pursue his long time dream of having a label said coming down to Nigeria to invest his money in music business and production is a dream come true, adding that he never had a doubt in mind about his next line of action since he returned to the country.

“I was in Lagos for a while before I decided to come to Ibadan to float this company. But it is always good to come down to a place where you will be able to explore when you are starting a business. We are in this business to staisfy the people, that’s why we have PTV records and PTV studio. If there is anyone who feel he has the talent to do music but does not have the capacity to push it, we will be here to help such persons to fufill their goals at a very low no cost. And, when it comes to PTV studio, we are here to help in producing songs for people and showing them the path to follow.”

Prince Tom, who is also known as the man with the White Cup added that he didn’t set up the business to make money but to add value to people’s lives and help them promote their songs to the next level. “If you invest your money in a business, you can’t make the money back immediately. You have to gain the trust of the people by giving them what they have before they start paying you. So for us at PTV records, we are here to serve the people.”
