Five political parties to contest Kwara LG election

Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission (KWSIEC) has said that five political parties will participate in the September 21 local government elections in Kwara State.

The Nigerian Tribune gathered that the KWASIEC has also confirmed and released candidates of each party for the polls.

It was gathered that the KWSIEC has pasted the list of candidates for the Chairmanship and Councillorship positions at its headquarters in Ilorin, thus confirming the five political parties participating in the election.

According to the list, the parties include: Accord Party (AP) Allied Peoples Movement (APM) Social Democratic Party (SDP) Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC)

The main opposition political party, the PDP, as well as other political parties participating in the elections have asked the state electoral commission to conduct free, fair and credible election next month.
