Five die, six injured in Oyo/Ogbomoso road crash

Five persons have lost their lives while six others were critically injured in a road mishap that occurred along old Oyo/Ogbomoso road.

The accident which occured Friday night involved articulated vehicle and a commercial Sharon bus.

The articulated vehicle, as reliably gathered lost control at Oolo community in Oriire local government area and ran into the business.

It was gathered that five of the passengers died on the spot while the remaining six victims are recuperating at an undisclosed hospital.

Confirming the incident, a top management staff of the Federal Road Safety Commission, (FRSC) who preferred anonymity said, “The accident happened on Friday night.

“Five out of the eleven persons involved in the accident are dead while the remaining six victims are recuperating in the hospital”.

Meanwhile, an eyewitness account blamed the incident on overspeeding and disregard for traffic laws.
