He explained that the incident occurred in Ode Aye when member of the delegates were travelling to Igbokoda where the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo is billed to interact with stakeholders in the area.
He said “the five victims died instantly while four others who sustained a high degree of injuries were rushed to the specialist in Okitipupa.
Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Femi Joseph, said the accident was caused by over speeding and described the incident as avoidable but unfortunate.

He said three vehicles were damaged beyond recognition.
The PPRO also said that the remains of the deceased had been deposited at the mortuary of the state specialist hospital, Okitipupa, where the injured victims were also receiving treatment.
He said efforts were on by the state government and the Police to rescue the injured victims.
He however assured that the details of the deceased will be made public soon.
