Fish out killers of Plateau monarch, Reps order IGP

Published by

THE House of Representatives has directed the acting Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, to  fish out an prosecute the killers of Saf Ron Kulere, Lazarus Agaie, the first class traditional ruler of Bokkos in Plateau State.

The House also directed all security agencies in the country to deploy personnel in the area, with a view to forestalling any breakdown of law and order.

The resolution was sequel to a motion by Honourable Solomon Maren and when it was put to vote by the Speaker, Honourable Yakubu Dogara, it was unanimously supported.

Meanwhile, as security agencies intensify the search for the killers of the monarch, more condemnations have trailed the shocking incident.

This was as the state governor, Simon Lalong, condemned the assasination in strong terms.

Senator Jeremiah Useni, who represented Plateau South senatorial district, described the incident as “terrible and wicked,” adding that “it is a shocking development; I have just been told and do not know the details, but I find this incident particularly painful because the man was a very peaceful ruler.”

Honourable Solomon Maren representing Bokkos/Mangu, regretted that the monarch was killed by those he had spent much time struggling to protect.

Governor Lalong, in a statement by his Director of Press Affairs, Emmanuel Nanle, said security agencies had swung into action to unravel the identity of perpetrators of the dastardly act.

He assured that the government was on top of the situation and was set to fish out enemies of peace that had returned to the state.
