First Lady’s return sparks excitement in Akure

Published by

Akure, the capital of Ondo State was abuzz with joy and excitement recently as the wife of Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Oluwaseun made a surprise return to the Government House after an extended absence.

Her unexpected appearance during a family ceremony at the Government House Chapel sparked positive reactions across the state.

Mrs. Aiyedatiwa had lived in the United Kingdom since 2023, leading to widespread speculation and discussions about her prolonged absence from state affairs. Her return coincides with the upcoming inauguration of Governor Aiyedatiwa for his first full term on February 24, 2025, marking a significant moment in the state’s political landscape.

At the ceremony, guests were surprised when the First Lady strolled into the chapel. A move that ignited loud cheers and applause from the congregation. This public appearance has been interpreted by many as a sign of reconciliation and unity within the First Family.

However, there are indications that Mrs. Aiyedatiwa’s return may be brief.

She was said to have come for the wedding ceremony and departed some days after.

As the state anticipates the forthcoming inauguration, the brief yet impactful return of Mrs. Oluwaseun Aiyedatiwa has reignited discussions about the importance of the First Lady’s presence in governance and its influence on social and women’s issues in Ondo State.
