The first batch of Christian pilgrims for the 2024 Main Pilgrimage exercise has arrived safely in Amman, Jordan, to commence their spiritual journey.
The inaugural flight, primarily comprising Lagos pilgrims, departed Murtala Muhammed International Airport at 10:20 pm on Sunday, December 22, and landed at Queen Alia International Airport, Amman, at 7:20 am local time.
The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Bishop Stephen Adegbite, led the delegation of pilgrims and expressed his gratitude for the warm reception accorded to the Nigerian pilgrims by the Jordanians.

The Nigerian Ambassador to Jordan, Kamfut Umaru, was present at the airport to receive the NCPC Executive Secretary, officials, and pilgrims.
The pilgrims were welcomed with melodious local dance music performed by the Jordanians at the airport. The NCPC Executive Secretary, Federal Commissioners, board members, and pilgrims joined in dancing to the local renditions. Following the airport reception, the pilgrims retired to their hotels to prepare for their pilgrimage tour program to holy sites in Jordan.
The pilgrims will spend three days in Jordan before proceeding to Israel to continue the remainder of their pilgrimage, which is scheduled to last a total of 10 days.
