Fire guts FRCN building in Kaduna

Fire gutted the procurement building of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) building in Kaduna on Sunday afternoon.

Even though the cause of the fire incident is yet to be unveiled but source revealed that it started at the procurement building of the radio station around 1.43 pm.

“We were coming out from the mosque when suddenly we saw fire come out from the procurement building.”

According to the source, “Being Sunday, only a few workers report to duty. So we don’t know how the fire started.”

However, he disclosed that firefighters were invited to quench the fire from spreading to other buildings.

It was gathered that intervention of the fire service saved the radio station.

Recall the minister of information and national orientation, Mohammed Ibrahim Malagi was at the station on Friday to assess the station where he promised to carry out reforms at both the radio station and the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).
