Properties worth millions of Naira belonging to Akoko Anglican Grammar School in Arigidi Akoko, Akoko North-West Local Government Area of Ondo, were destroyed by fire on Sunday
The inferno which started around 9 am affected the workshops of the skill acquisition centre of the secondary school, razing the whole department before help could reach the school.
According to an eye witness, the technical department of the school was completely destroyed, while items like sewing machines, hairdryers and some other vocational equipment in the school were destroyed.

He said: “So many important equipments were destroyed by the fire which raged for more than an hour. The men of the state fire service were not seeing at the scene to put out the fire.
“The Ikare Akoko Fire Station is the nearest to the scene of the incident but we can’t find the fire brigade to do something on the fire, maybe it is because they don’t have functional vehicles.”
In his reaction, the Police Public Relations Officer of the state, Mr Femi Joseph, confirmed the incident but said the cause of the inferno was still unknown.
