General Overseer of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Oke-Iselogo, Felele, Ibadan, Prophet Emmanuel Ade Ajayi, has called on Federal and state governments to tackle unemployment to check escalation of insurgency and other crimes.
He stated this while speaking with TribuneChurch, to herald the annual Gilgal Mountain Prayer camp meeting of the church beginning tomorrow.
He enjoined government to find solutions to renewed political agitations in some parts of the country, which he also blamed on youth unemployment, just as he stressed the need for eradication of illiteracy.
He advised the Federal Government to invest heavily in agriculture, noting that if the country was self-sufficient in food production, it will considerably reduce the level of hunger in the land.
He said: “Nigeria is a blessed nation. There is a lot of vast land that can be used for farming. Why can’t the government cultivate the lands and deploy youth corps members that want to serve their fatherland. They should spend 60 per cent of their time in the farms, to further improve local food production.”
