A senatorial aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, Dr Fola Akinosun, has called on Nigerians to join hands with law enforcement agencies to put an end to the activities of insurgents in the country.

Dr Akinosun made the appeal in an interview programme at the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State to mark the Democracy Day celebration.

We will surely overcome this problem even though it will take some time.”

In view of the claim in some quarters that government is selective in the fight against corruption, he said no government has done what the current administration is doing with regards to the fight against corruption, adding that if people were arrested indiscriminately as some people would expect, many people would be wrongly apprehended which, he said, contravenes the rule of law.

Speaking on the performance of the National Assembly, he observed that some lawmakers have deviated from what they were elected to do when  they chose to distribute materials to their constituents in the name of empowerment  rather than making laws that would give the constituents better means of livelihood. He, however, averred that the Nationa

On the judiciary, he noted that it has not optimally played the role of being the last resort of the common man.

He, however, observed that  as the  nation’s  democracy continues to improve, the performance of the three tiers of government  will get better for the good of all Nigerians .
