Fidelity Bank Plc said on Thursday said that 2,600 of its customers had so far been rewarded with over N2.6bn cash rewards in the last four years under the bank’s loyalty reward scheme.
Speaking at an event where cash prizes were given to customers 17 additional customers which held at the Banex Plaza, Abuja, Regional Bank Head, Mr Halilu Malibu said it was important for the bank to reward its loyal customers and to encourage them to save more.
“We keep our words and give whatever we promise our loyal customers. The criterion is to just fund your account and after a while, you will qualify for a draw and you stand a chance of winning”, he said.
According to him, the bank would continue to come up with innovative products that would meet the needs of its customers.
“As a bank, we take it upon ourselves to give to the society and that is what we have done by giving our over N2.6bn to over 2,600 customers in four years under the Fidelity Bank loyalty reward.

Also speaking, Program Manager, Retail Banking, Mrs Ugonnaya Okoro said loyalty reward scheme was part of efforts to improve saving culture among Nigerians.
She said, “We are driving all our products through this avenue and we are also driving financial inclusion by bringing in the unbanked into the financial system.
“We are going into the interior part of the country to take banking to the people. We are not going to wait for customers to come to us anymore.”
The scheme, meant to reach out to 6,000 customers in a continuous exercise has extended to Kaduna, Yola, Bauchi, Lafia and will further extend to other states.
Okoro said the loyalty scheme is divided into two for children and adults.
In the children scheme called the Sweeter Account, N150,000 was the reward while Fidelity Personal Savings Scheme (FPSS), which was the adult version gave N500,000 to each beneficiary.
One of the beneficiaries of N500,000, Mr Amobi Ifeanyi Chinedu who couldn’t hide his excitement lauded the good gesture from Fidelity bank and assured to bring other members of his family to open an account with Fidelity Bank.
“When my account officer called last week that I will be rewarded today, I didn’t believe it as I thought it was a joke but I am very happy and I will make good use of the money,” he said.
