The Kogi State Forum of Political Office Holders from 2012 to 2016 under the administration of Capt. Idris Wada has described those calling on the Federal government not to the N5 billion palliatives for Kogi State as mischievous and wicked.
In a statement signed by Hon. Sadiq Abubakar Ainoko Sadiq, former Commissioner For Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs and Barr. Kayode Olowomoran, Former Commissioner For Culture and Tourism, the forum expressed implicit confidence in the administration of Governor Yahaya Bello to make judicious use of the resources and for the purposes intended.
While pointing out that the Governor had in the past displayed transparency and accountability in the judicious use of the bailout money to the state, the forum expressed optimism that the same would be done with the N5bn palliative to the state.
The Forum said the development in the area of infrastructure development across the state is another eloquent testimony that the palliative fund when released would be used for its purposes, urging those it described as mischief-makers not to play politics with the lives of the people.
The Forum stressed that even without the palliative fund, Governor Bello’s administration has put in place measures to cushion the effect of the subsidy removal.
The Forum of Past Political Office Holders also urged the Governor not to be distracted by the rantings of politicians who are already seeing defeat stare them in the face in the forthcoming November governorship election to continue with his good works, by sustaining his people-oriented programs for the people.
The Forum called on the political actors who are scared to canvas for votes by telling the people what they intend to do differently, describing them as enemies of the people of Kogi State.
