The National President of the export group, Mr Anibe Achimugu, made this known in a press briefing in Abuja recently.
Achimugu said that the provision of a substitute seaport had become crucial to enable exporters of agricultural produce meet supply demands at the international market.
According to him, “Export is the same; the only advantage we have is that we are not doing perishable items, but the situation at the Apapa port affects every exporter.

“Until we get it right, it is going to be a problem because we export based on contract and time,” he added.
The national president stressed that cotton production in the country is primarily for export, and requires smooth export process to meet demands.
Achimugu noted that the association was training its members on productive agronomic practices to sustain improved production through technologies and programmes.
