FG to refund 37.95bn to Anambra ― Senator Umeh

THE Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial district at the upper legislative chamber Abuja, Senator Victor Umeh, said with the commitment of Gov. Willie Obiano, over the welfare of it citizenry, the Federal Government of Nigeria, has approved the refund of N37.95billion to Anambra government out of N42billion owing the state, for the repaired and rehabilitation of roads and other intervention funds on federal government projects.

Senator Umeh who is the chairman house committee on labour and productivity stated this in Isu-Aniocha in Awka North Council Area during the chapter inauguration of Senator Victor Umeh 2019 Campaign organization.

The Senator commended the governor for rehabilitating some federal projects, assuring him that the federal government will refund the
remaining money expended in a shorter time.

According to him, the massive and progressive infrastructural development in Anambra by Governor Willie Obiano, through the collaboration of the concerned federal ministries and agencies in the state is laudable.

Umeh who disclosed further that his major purpose of going to the Senate is to contribute his quarter by helping the state government connect to the federal, explain that the level of federal work ongoing in Anambra state was a turnaround from what obtained before the inception of Gov. Willie Obiano’s administration on March 17, 2013.

Umeh who also appreciated the cordial relationship between the federal government and the state government on social development, appealed to President Mohammadu Buhari, to do the needful on time to enable the State governor delivered the proceed of democracy to his people.

On the rerun election tribunal judgment, Umeh said his victory is a confirmation that the Anambra Central Senatorial District and the entire State is for the All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA.

Senator Umeh noted that it was because of the solid followership of the APGA by people of the zone that suspected elements of the rival party have resorted to deceit and propaganda against the ruling party APGA and his candidacy in the State.

So, therefore, is a victory for democracy and Nigeria, he concluded.
