Minister of State in the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology, Barrister Mohammed Abdullahi disclosed this when the Chairman of the Local Government Area, Mr Samuel Akala in company of traditional rulers paid him a courtesy visit in his office, on Thursday in Abuja.
Barrister Abdullahi said Karu is the nearest Local Government to the nation’s capital and deserved to have essential infrastructure that would benefit its cosmopolitan inhabitants.
He further said the ministry would painstakingly support the local government to help re-orientate children to embrace and study science and its related subjects.
“Nations develop because of technology and innovation, we have many research institutes developing research in various fields for commercialisation to add value to society,” he stated.
Barrister Abdullahi reiterated his commitment to the infrastructural development of local government and would encourage the opportunity to facilitate the relevant agencies of the ministry to champion developmental projects in the area.

The minister also mooted the initiation of affordable housing schemes for the staff of the ministry who reside in the area due to its close proximity to the nation’s capital.
He commended the traditional leaders of the local government for their magnanimity in ensuring enduring peace and development, despite the area being a melting point of many ethnic groups in the country.
Earlier, the Chairman of Karu Local Government, Mr Samuel Akala, said they would seek closer collaboration with the ministry in many areas of mutual benefit.
He appealed to the minister to intervene in the Infrastructural decay currently experienced by the local government and overstretched due to its close proximity to the nation’s capital.
