FG should motivate youths by investing in Nollywood industry — Actress Pamela Okoye

Nollywood sensation, Pamela Okoye, has urged the Nigerian government to motivate the youths by investing in the entertainment industry by providing grants and loans.

In an interview, Okoye noted that doing this would even help the government to create more employment through the industry.

The actress added that against the background of rising unemployment, youths could tap into the enormous opportunities in the industry and become better individuals.

She said, “Youth can tap into opportunities in the movie industry to become self-employed. So many opportunities exist before and behind the camera, from acting to cinematography, script writing, editing, costume design and many more.

“The government can motivate the youth by investing in the industry via grant and one digit loan because doing that will even help government to create more employment through our industry.

“Another thing is creating seminars workshops to enlighten and educate both actors producers and directors.”

Speaking on her next project, she said, “I have lots of projects I am working on at the moment but I would decide to be mute about it for now. When it’s time for unveiling I definitely will unveil it.”

I was born on the 19th of October, I attended Minavester international school for my primary education and Command Secondary School, Ipaja, Lagos while I proceeded to Les cours Sonou university, Benin Republic where I obtained my degree in accounting. I am a graduate of accounting but many people do not know this. After my tertiary education, I was posted to akwa ibom for camping I proceeded for a redeployment to Ogun State.

“I am a happy person, very energetic, and positive minded, I also love being around positive minded people with good vibes and energy, I love my space a lot and am quite accommodating as well so far it’s not invading my privacy.

“I am an actress, a filmmaker and a producer. I have a production company.”

On how she handled advances from male fan, she said, “The truth is; most of my male fans I treat them like fans, I do not allow anything sensual to happen. I understand it is fine for them to make advances and I also understand the need to politely reject it… above all I accord them respect because without our fans we are nobody.”
