FG restates commitment to equipping youth with digital skills

Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr Bosun Tijani, has reiterated the federal government’s commitment to equip Nigerian youths with essential digital knowledge and skills.

He gave this assurance during his visit to the Teesas Education Learning Centre in Lekki, Lagos, at the weekend.

The centre is one of the Applied Learning Clusters (ALC) of the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) programme, an initiative of the Tijani-led ministry, with the aim of generating a pipeline of highly-skilled technical talent for Nigeria.

The minister expressed happiness over the good testimonies shared by participants of the programme at the centre and urged them to remain focused.

In his remark, Chairman and Founder of Teesas Education, Mr Osayi Izedonmwen, commended the minister for the impactful initiative, saying the outcome on the economy and the society at large would be unquantifiable.

Giving insight into the role of Teesas Education Learning Centre in the 3MTT programme, Izedonmwen declared that the centre empowers youths in various fields ranging from Product Management, UI/ UX Design, Software Development, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML), Cloud Computing, Game Development, Data Analysis and Visualisation, Animation, to Quality Assurance.

He explained that the centre is committed to assisting the Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy to actualise this agenda of building Nigeria’s technical talent backbone to power the economy and position Nigeria as a net talent exporter.

He pointed out that the ongoing training is the second cohort for the centre with no fewer than 1,000 participants so far trained at both its Lekki and Ikeja centres.

“So, we look forward to continuing the collaboration with the ministry until it achieves its target,” he added.

Teesas Education Learning Centre operates as an hybrid, technology-enabled space, offering both off and online education.
