Minister of Science and Technology, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu,
THE Minister of Science and Technology, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu, on Tuesday, said the ministry would continue to encourage Nigerians to develop their creativity and innovations in finding solutions too many problems confronting the nation.
He stated this when Professor Dikeoha Okwu, a mathematics innovator paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Abuja.
Dr Onu noted that every profession is important; hence the need to make sure that children study and develop aptitude for Mathematics.
The minister stressed that no nation in the history of humanity has become truly great without science, technology and innovation.

According to him, Egypt, Rome and USA, and other countries that have been in the centre of human civilisation have grown as a result of science, technology and innovation. We need to begin the journey that would make our young people show interest in the study of Science and Mathematics.
He commended Professor Okwu for his research and creativity in the field Mathematics and also promised that the ministry would support him through a programme under one of the departments which go round the country and look at the creativity of young minds.
Earlier, Professor Okwu showcased some of the mathematical instruments that could be used in schools, saying he had written over 10 million mathematical games.
