FG has spent billions of naira on social investments programme, others in Niger ― State focal person

The Federal Government under the four components of the National Social Investments  Programme (SIPs) has injected not less than about N28 billion in Niger State from 2016 till date.

Focal person and Special Adviser to Niger State Governor on National Social Investment Programme, Amina Musa Gua’r, stated this while addressing journalists in a media parley on Tuesday in Minna.

Amina Gua’r explained that N12 billion was injected into the Home Grown School Feeding programme and another N10 billion into the N-Power programme.

According to her, the sum of N3.8 billion was injected into the Conditional Cash Transfer and another over N951 million to the Government Enterprises Empowerment Programme (GEEP).

Gua’r who commended President Muhammadu Buhari for introducing the National Social Investment Programme targeted at the poor and vulnerable, however, said the programme has created 14,000 jobs across Niger State.

She also commended the state Governor Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello for providing an enabling environment and freehand for those working under the programme to operate and attributed this gesture as part of their success story.

Gua’r who commended the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Hajiya Saadiya Umar Faruk, for her doggedness and also spoke of their plans to create an independent monitor in Niger State for effective service delivery.

She stressed the need for collective efforts by Nigerian elites to achieve maximum results.
