FG confirms Najomo as substantive NCAA DG

Published by

Nigeria’s aviation sector was on Friday positively charged with the news of the confirmation of the erstwhile acting Director-General of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Captain Chris Najomo, as the substantive DG.

The confirmation came after several months of agitation from various key players in the sector, including unions, workers, and professional bodies.

Many of Najomo’s supporters had based their calls for his confirmation on the achievements he had recorded since assuming the leadership of the regulatory agency in an acting capacity for over a year.

The confirmation of the NCAA DG has put to rest the uncertainty created by the suspension of the former DG, Captain Musa Nuhu, for undisclosed reasons.

Najomo, who should have been confirmed earlier as the substantive DG, had his confirmation delayed to allow his predecessor’s tenure to run its course.

Meanwhile, congratulatory messages have been pouring in from key players for the newly confirmed DG.

Prior to his confirmation, Najomo had successfully endeared himself to many stakeholders through various policies and projects that further raised the standards in the sector, particularly in relation to domestic airline operations and seamless flight services, ensuring that air travellers receive value for their money.
