FG committed to transformation of Almajiri education system — Minister

The Federal Government has reiterated President Bola Tinubu’s strong commitment to overhauling the almajiri education system and ensuring that millions of Nigerian children receive basic education.

Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman, made this assertion during a visit to the National Commission for Almajiri and Out-of-School Children’s Education (NCAOOSCE) headquarters in Abuja. He praised Dr. Muhammad Sani Idris, the Executive Secretary of NCAOOSCE, for his exemplary leadership and advocacy in advancing the Commission’s goals.

In a statement released by Nura Muhammad, the Spokesperson of NCAOOSCE, Prof. Mamman highlighted the achievements of the past year, noting that 3.5 million almajiri and out-of-school children have been integrated into the formal education system thanks to the efforts of NCAOOSCE and its partners.

The Minister commended Dr. Idris for his proactive engagement with key stakeholders, which has been crucial in supporting the Commission’s mission. He emphasized President Tinubu’s deep concern for the welfare of these children and reaffirmed the administration’s dedication to addressing their educational needs.

Dr. Idris expressed appreciation for the Minister’s support and acknowledged his role in facilitating progress. “The Minister has been a constant source of support and encouragement,” Dr. Idris stated.

This reaffirmation underscores the Federal Government’s ongoing commitment to improving the educational landscape for Nigeria’s most vulnerable children.
