FG committed to addressing insecurity — NSA

Published by

The National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, has reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to addressing insecurity in Benue State and across the country.

Ribadu made this assurance during a visit to Makurdi, the state capital, where he commiserated with the government and people over the recent surge in insecurity.

He emphasised that the government recognizes Benue’s importance as the nation’s food basket and is determined to tackle the security challenges.

Ribadu appealed to the people to avoid politicising the issue and instead join hands with the government to fight insecurity.

The NSA acknowledged that insecurity has been a national challenge since 2011, describing it as “pure criminality” that transcends politics, religion, and ethnicity. He assured Nigerians that the present administration is committed to improving security and has made significant progress despite the challenges.

Ribadu urged citizens to understand the government’s efforts and give them a chance to address the issue, emphasising that the current administration is a listening one that identifies the root causes and tackles the problem head-on.
