FG advised to involve owners of Islamic schools in administration

THE Federal Government has been charged to allow people that have a direct link with Tsangaya (Islamiyya) Schools to be part of the administrations of the schools for a successful implementation of the Almajiri Schools system in the country.

The charge was made by a renowned Islamic Scholar in Bauchi, Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi at the graduation of 1678 pupils who graduated this year from various States in the country held at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium Bauchi, saying that the real Islamic Tsangaya Schools owners are left behind in the implementation of the programme which has left big holes in the implementation of the Almajiri school Programme.

Sheikh Dahiru who was represented by his eldest son, Alhaji Ibrahim Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi said that: “With the integration of Tsangaya and Islamic education into the modern educational system of Nigeria, it will go a long way in the eradication of proliferation of Almajiri system of street begging.”

The Scholar who stressed the importance of memorisation of the Holy Qur’an urged Muslims and all stakeholders to join hands together in order to promote qur’anic and Islamic education for the wellbeing of the society and development of the country.

He then congratulated the graduated students and their parents for their resilience and commitment which help them to achieve this golden success in Islam.

Director of Education of Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi Foundation, Sayyadi Aliyu Sise Sheikh Dahiru gave the breakdown of graduating students from different parts of the country, Bauchi has 380 pupils that memorized the Holy Qur’an, Kano State 268 pupils, Gombe 63 pupils, Kaduna 63, Adamawa 15 pupils, Kwara state has 38 pupils and Katsina State has the highest number of Quranic memorisers this year 571 pupils while 280 pupils from various Islamiyya Schools learnt how to recite 60 hizb of the holy Qur’an.

Headmaster of Madrasatu Markazussaqafiyyil Islam Kobi Bauchi the first Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi Islamiyyah School, Mallam Hassan Adam Dahir Markazi called on parent’s, students and other stakeholders in education to ensure that they carried out their responsibilities diligently for the success of education of their children.

The Scholar expressed gratitude to Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, for his support towards the success of the Schools across the country and his contributions to the growth of Islam in the Country.

Guest Speakers at the Occasion Dr Fatihi Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi Of Federal University Kashere and Dr Adamu Usman Kobi Head of Arabic Department Bauchi State University Itas Gadau spoke on the importance of education which they said is the only key to socio-economic development of any society.

The Dons urged the government and stakeholders to make a genuine investment in education so that Nigeria can have great leaders of tomorrow and the country can excel in all aspects of development.
