Members of the Federal Parastals and Private Sector Pensioners Association of Nigeria (FEPPPAN) have urged the Federal Government to stop further mandatory deductions of 50 percent of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) revenue into Federal Treasury Account and five percent deductions from FAAN collected revenue and remitted to AIB.

Rising from a meeting of FEPPPAN chairmen and secretaries held in Enugu, the body noted that the indiscriminate deductions will not allow  FAAN to meet its statutory obligations to the public and cater for staff and pensioners plights.

In a statement signed by the National Chairman, Chief Abah John and National Secretary/Admin, Comrade Emeka Njoku, the association frowned at the poor medical treatment of pensioners even as they called on the management of FAAN to respect the agreement reached on medical treatment to pensioners.

While commending the FAAN management for paying pensions as at when due, the body noted that the issues concerning FAAN pensioners were very germane, especially welfare.

The association condmned  any fraudulent act in the system ranging from revenue collection points, mismanagement of fund among others, vowing to expose such act to the authority.

At the meeting, the  national office was mandated to commence the development of their structure at the union piece of land in the airport, to avoid encroachment of the land and urged the management of FAAN to embark on more developmental projects

They congratulated the national officers and pensioners of FAAN  for a successful migration to FEPPPAN from NUP, in accordance with Federal Trade Union Act establishing same.
