Federal Housing Authority boss pledges improved power generation for Nigerians

The Managing Director, Federal Housing Authority FHA, Hon. Oladimeji Oyetunde Ojo, has promised to improve on the provision of electricity to Nigerians as the agency’s contribution to bridging the energy crises currently being experienced in the country and its estates.

Ojo, who doubles as the Chairman of the Board of Directors, FHA Energy Distribution Limited, gave this assurance during the inauguration of the newly established FHAEDL Head Office, a subsidiary of FHA in Abuja.

Commending the staff of the Federal Housing Authority for their positive work attitude since the new management came on board, he noted that it was such productivity that enabled the birth of the agency’s newest subsidiary.

The Board Chairman also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for providing the enabling environment that opened participation in the nation’s energy sector, which FHA has tapped into.

He admonished Nigerians to cooperate with the present administration to reap the dividends of quality leadership.

Ojo noted that the immediate task before the FHA Energy Company is to bridge the gap in energy distribution in all FHA estates in the country so as to achieve a substantial level of uninterrupted power supply within the next couple of months.

The FHA boss, who did not hide his disapproval of the Energy Company operating from private property, tasked the management to immediately start working towards its own permanent office within the next two years in order to enable them to fully settle down for business.

He also tasked the new energy subsidiary to strive to achieve prominence like its sister subsidiary, FHA Mortgage Bank, by first getting off the national grid by generating its own energy in its head office and other FHA offices.

He also noted that given the advantage of the numerous estates FHA has, which the Energy Company can immediately cover, the business horizon of the company is very wide.

Earlier, the Managing Director of the new company, Mr K.M. Umar, promised to improve electricity generation to all its estates and other Nigerians, noting that the company will commence provision of electricity to the Zuba Housing Estate and the FHA head office and then gradually move to all its estates across the country.

Umar expressed gratitude to the unwavering cooperation of the Chairman and the Board of the company that has seen the rapid development it has achieved within the short period of its incorporation.
