THE Federal College of Agriculture, Moor Plantation, Ibadan, has released a new set of graduates.
No fewer than 718 graduates were issued certificates for the award of National Diploma and Higher National Diploma, during a ceremony held at the college auditorium on Monday.
While congratulating the graduands, the Provost of the college, Dr Mrs Elizabeth Oluwakemi Augustus, said: “I congratulate the graduands for the successful journey through the academic rigours of the College, your resilience, doggedness and determination are today rewarded with a certificate of excellence, and I am proud of you all.
“Our graduates have always delivered excellently well in their fields of endeavours. Right from their mandatory National Service programme, the products of the college have always projected novel ideas and developed machines for the local governments in their places of service, and they have received National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) awards.
“I therefore urge you all, as you are elegantly gathered here today, to be good ambassadors of the College in any field you may find yourselves. You have been equipped with the skills, morals and diligence required to make a headway in both academic and social endeavours, and I can confidently nudge you to aim for the stars.”
Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, represented by Mr Ota Ndem, stated: “I also commend the parents and guardians of these promising youths for their commitment to ensuring the well-being, relevance, and usefulness of their children at all times.”
Executive Secretary, Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria (ARCN), Professor Garba Sharubutu, who was represented at the occasion by the Provost, Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology (FCAH&PT), Dr Adekoya Owosibo, called on the graduates to be good ambassadors of the college and always strive to contribute their quota to Nigeria’s food security.
