The FCT Minister of State, Dr Mariya Mahmoud, made this commitment at the inauguration of the FCT Committee on Area Councils and Ancillary Matters held at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja.

According to her, “the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Committee on Area Council and Ancillary Matters typically performs functions related to the administration, development, and coordination of activities in the area councils within the FCT.

“This includes but is not limited to, overseeing local governance, infrastructure development, and addressing ancillary issues that impact the overall well-being of the residents in the Territory.

“It also plays a crucial role in ensuring effective local governance and the implementation of policies at the grassroots level within the Federal Capital Territory.”.

Mahmoud, therefore, assured that the FCT Administration would work together with the committee towards the development and betterment of residents of the territory and visitors alike.
