FCT: Police unveil identities of officers killed by Shi’ite group

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has identified the officers killed in an attack by the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), also known as Shi’ites.

The officers, who were stationed at the Wuse Market Junction, were attacked on August 23, 2024.

According to the FCT Police Command spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, the deceased officers are ASP Innocent Agabi and Inspector Alexander Odey.

The attack also resulted in injuries to three other officers, who were left unconscious.

In a statement, SP Adeh extended condolences to the families of the fallen officers, acknowledging their role as breadwinners and the profound grief their families are enduring.

“As breadwinners for their families, one can only imagine the deep sorrow their loved ones are experiencing now,” the statement read.
