FCT: Police arrest four kidnappers in Abuja

The Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has apprehended four notorious kidnappers responsible for a string of abductions across Jabi, Dutse village, Lugbe, and other areas.

These arrests come as part of the Command’s heightened efforts to combat the rising wave of kidnappings within the region.

The suspects, who were arrested in a coordinated operation, have confessed to their involvement in numerous kidnapping operations across Kaduna, Niger, and the FCT.

According to the FCT Police Command, the gang admitted to abducting several victims and are linked to the deaths of over seven people during their criminal activities.

Speaking on the arrests, the spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, DSP Josephine Adeh, stated, “These individuals have terrorized communities for a long time, but due to the relentless efforts of our officers, we were able to intercept and arrest them before they could carry out further attacks in Abuja and Niger.

Their arrest is a significant breakthrough for our unit and a reassurance to residents that we are committed to safeguarding lives.”

The Police also revealed that the gang was in the advanced stages of planning new abductions when the unit swooped in, effectively thwarting their plans.

“They were gearing up for another round of kidnappings, but we managed to neutralize the threat before any harm could be done,” DSP Adeh added.

Investigations are ongoing, and the suspects will soon be charged to court. The Police urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to authorities.
