MINISTER of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Musa Bello, has been commended for the efforts of the current FCT administration in the areas of security, environment and road reconstruction.
Chairman, Board of Trustees of IBB International Golf and Country Club, Major-General IBM Haruna (retired) made the commendation while exchanging views with the minister in his office.
He urged the minister and his counterpart in the Federal Ministry of Environment to consider giving annual subvention to the club for regular maintenance of the place.
Haruna also appealed to the FCT Administration to grant waiver for the annual ground rent to the Golf Course.
Responding, the minister said that the FCT Administration would assist to bring back the past glory of the IBB Golf and Country Club, Abuja to enable it take its proper position as tourism landmark in the territory.
He said that he would personally visit the club to identify the cause of flooding which brought in debris into that environment, pledging that the problem would be solved before the next raining season.
He stated that the action would go a long way, not only to protect the aesthetic beauty of the landmark, but also protect the aquatic life of some of the marine animals there.
