The Federal College of Education (Technical), Gusau in Zamfara State, has set up sexual harassment and dress code committee aimed at safeguarding students as the college matriculates 905 students.
Acting provost of the college, Dr. Hassan Abubakar Augie, at the 2018/2019 matriculation ceremony warned students against from engaging in examination malpractice and other social vices that may destroy the image of the college.
“You should not associate yourselves with elements that may put you into trouble or disrupt your studies such as drugs, violence, religious intolerance and other social vices that have the potential of destroying your life or the lives of others,” he said.
Dr Augie further advised the students to strive hard to achieve excellent result in all the courses.
“You must count yourselves lucky and strive to justify this golden opportunity by working hard to achieved excellent results in all the courses you are undertaking. NCE is just a stepping stone to hundreds of opportunities you will have once you are able to attain good result,” he said.
A total of 905 students took their matriculation oath at the event.
