Fayose’s invitation by Assembly, a ploy to distract Ekiti people ― PDP

Published by
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State has described the invitation of the former governor, Ayo Fayose by the state house of Assembly as a ploy by the All Progressives Congress led government to distract the people of the state.
The Assembly had on Thursday summoned Fayose alongside ALGON chairman, Hon. Dapo Olagunju to appear before the house over issues bothering on local government fund when he was governor.
The decision of the house followed the adoption of the recommendations of the Public Account Committee mandated by the house to investigate the allegation of misappropriation of local government fund by the past Chairmen.
The Assembly had in December 2018 suspended the 16 council chairmen while 8 were later reinstated in July 2019.
The chairman of the party in the state, Gboyega Oguntuwase while speaking in an interview with newsmen in Ado -Ekiti, noted that the Fayose’s invitation was a witch-hunt and advised Governor Kayode Fayemi to concentrate on giving the people of the state dividends of democracy.
The PDP chairman said, ” The invitation is a witch-hunting strategy and a distraction meant to blindfold the Ekiti people from seeing the near zero per cent report sheet of Fayemi in his one year in office. The governor should instead concentrate on positive governance rather than furthering his hatred agenda against Fayose.
” It is equally a height of foolery for Governor Fayemi  who refused to honour an invitation by the house of assembly to explain massive financial  misappropriation during his first tenure to now wanting to use the same platform  to harass and intimidate a former governor with innumerable achievements to cover up the history of absurdity and non-performance.”
