Fayose inaugurates classrooms donated by wife

Ekiti State government has commissioned a block of three classrooms worth N10 million donated by the wife of the state governor, Mrs Feyisetan Fayose, to Erelu Adebayo Children Home, Iyin-Ekiti.

While commissioning the building, Governor Ayodele Fayose, who was apparently moved by the kind gesture of his wife, announced the immediate release of N500,000 for food supplements and clothing for children at the home.

According to the statement issued in Ado-Ekiti yesterday by the Special Assistant (Media) to the wife of the governor, Gbenga Ariyibi, Fayose equally announced automatic employment for a volunteer worker at the home, Mrs Bukola Adeniran.

The governor, however, warned the management of the home not to divert the money, as he will put machinery in motion to monitor the day-to-day running of the home.

He further ordered the immediate furnishing of the new classrooms with furniture and other instructional materials.

Fayose commended his wife for choosing to add value to the vision of her predecessor, the founder of the home.

He called on the Federal Government to make food security and economic transformation its priority to combat current hardship across the nation.

The governor pledged to further embark on more developmental projects across the state, urging people to ensure their voter’s cards are intact to repay him with votes in the forthcoming general elections in the state.

In her address, the wife of the governor, Mrs Feyisetan Fayose, said she decided to build the classrooms to advance the educational status of children at the home.

“I thought these God-given children, whose ordeals were not caused by them, should be given opportunity to be part of our society.”

“I’ve made pledge, even outside office, to continue to monitor and contribute my quota to the advancement and progress of the home,” she said.

While speaking, the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Gender Empowerment and Social Development, Mrs Yinka Ogundayomi, encouraged parents to take good care of their children.
