Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi
GOVERNOR Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State will, tomorrow, declare open a one-day lecture to sensitise youths, graduates and artisans on technical education as a means to self-reliance and sure employment.
The lecture, organised by the State Board for Technical and Vocational Education, also sought to change the negative public perception about technical education and trainees.
The lecture, with the theme, “Technical and Vocational Education: Innovation and Change of Perception,” will be delivered by Professor Sam Adejuyigbe of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE).

In a statement by the chairman of the board, Honourable Kayode Babade, chairman, Ekiti Traditional Council of Obas and the Oloye of Oye-Ekiti, Oba Ademolaju (Adugbole I), will be the Father of the Day while traditional rulers of communities hosting technical colleges in the state would also be in attendance.
Also expected at the occasion are the Ekiti State deputy governor, Chief Bisi Egbeyemi and the speaker of the state House of Assembly, Honourable Funminiyi Afuye, among other dignitaries.
Two prominent broadcasters, who are also a product of technical colleges, would deliver the keynote address at the lecture, which will hold at the Technical College Auditorium, Ado-Ekiti by 10 am.
