FAY set for greater heights, drops ‘In The Dark’

Published by

23-year-old independent musician, Omoruyi Favour Grace, popularly known as FAY, is gaining popularity in the dark pop genre with her voice which cuts across boundaries and touches the core of human feeling.

The Edo State-born rising star whose influences are from artistes such as Adele, Billie Eilish, and Tems, has created a sound that is all her own. Her unique blend of dark pop, with its raw sincerity and ethereal allure, captivates audiences across genres.

FAY has carved a niche for herself as she unveiled her debut single entitled, “In The Dark”, which is a reflection of her growth as a person and an artiste. Her new song, which she wrote from her personal experience, is expected to be a moving account of her journey so far.

She grew up in a family of singers, so music was essentially ingrained in her. However, she didn’t understand the full potential of her voice until much later in life.

Speaking about her musical adventure, which started at age 8 in the church choir. FAY revealed, “I started singing when I was about 8 from our church choir. I come from a family of singers so naturally, I could sing. As I grew older, I realised I could not express how hurt I get or how deep my emotions take hold of me but I have now found that music is my therapy with which I can express those emotions.”

FAY is a ray of hope for people today who are trying to make their way through the maze of their own emotions. Her melancholy melodies and thought-provoking lyrics resonate with listeners, serving as a therapeutic medium for her music. She opens a realm where grief is turned into art and vulnerability is cherished with every note she plays for her listeners.

She is steadfastly dedicated to her craft as she forges ahead in the music industry. “I hope to connect with everyone who found difficulties like I did and that my music helps them through. I hope that our journey together will never end and that we will find our healing through them,” she added.
