Fasoranti’s daughter, Funke Olakunrin, for burial July 22

The daughter of the leader of the Pan-Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, Mrs Olufunke Olakunri, who was killed by suspected Fulani herdsmen along Benin -Ore road will be committed to mother earth on Monday, July 22, this year.

This was disclosed in a statement detailing the funeral arrangements released by the family of the deceased, which was made available to journalists in Akure, on Thursday.

According to the funeral arrangements, the commendation/ night of tributes will take place on Friday, July 19 at Harbour Point Wilmot road, Ahmadu Bello way, Victorian island, Lagos state by 5:00 p.m.

The burial ceremony will take place at the Saint David’s Anglican Cathedral ljomu, Akure, by 11:00 a.m., while interment follows at the church cemetery.

It will be recalled that the late Olakunrin, born June 11, 1961, was killed by suspected Fulani herdsmen along Benin- Ore-Sagamu Expressway last Friday, July 12, at the age of 58, while travelling to Lagos.

She was survived by aged father, 94-year-old Chief Reuben Fasoranti, her husband, Mr Idowu Olakunrin, two daughters, Oyindamola and Oluwafeyisike, and grandchildren.
