Telecoms firm and corporate sponsors of CNN African Voices Globacom, has announced that the focus of this weekend’s episode will be three intriguing styles maestros, who are already making marks on the tapestry of the fashion industry, in spite of their youth.

The show is scheduled for broadcast on the Cable News Network, CNN, at 9.30 a.m. on Friday. Repeat editions will be broadcast at 3.30 a.m. and 1.30 p.m. on Saturday and 11.30 a.m and 6.30 p.m. on Sunday. Further repeats will be broadcast at 10.30 a.m. on Monday and 4.30 a.m. on Tuesday.
The episode will examine the unique fashion styles of African women and how they are making waves in major capitals of the globe.
A vignette of the current show reveals that from the colourful city of Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire, 34 year-old Loza Maleombho, informs viewers about her first love and how she is bridging Ivorian traditions with modern fashion, thus celebrating an eclectic blend of the old and the new.
The scene then moves to Lilongwe, Malawi where award – winning Lilly Alfonso, is creating high fashion styles that have global appeal. Her haute-couture is widely sought after by Malawians and Africans around the world.
Alfonso reveals how she won the Fashion Designer of the Year Award, in Malawi, and since then has been designing the outfits for Miss Malawi pageants. She has so far built a childhood passion for fashion into a thriving and award-winning clothing business.
Also featured on the show was an international model and restauranteur from Mauritius, Alicia Rountree, known for her work as a Victoria’s Secret Angel, who recently launched a swimwear line.
