Fashion tips for plus-size women

Plus-SIZE women are women who are about size 12 and above. As fashionable plus-size women, the aim is to look stylish and leaner not looking bulky with lumps and bumps. Plus-size women come in various shapes or body types such as apple pear or straight, each woman with her own unique body structure.

An apple shaped woman has a bigger upper body part than the lower body, such women should avoid having scrupulous details around the fullest part of the body, to avoid this drawing unnecessary attention to this part, the apple shaped pus sized woman should consider the following tips;

  • Avoid high necklines which make you look even more bustier than you already are
  • Wrap dresses are best for apple shaped ladies, it help to give an appearance of even distribution of body size on you.
  • Avoid wearing pencil skirts which shows uneven distribution of body size

The pear-shaped plus-size women have  fuller lower half of the body and a fuller upper half i.e small burst and big hip significantly larger than the upper part. And should considers;

  • Wearing dresses that has empire cut at the waist line
  • Fabrics/outfits that has vertical prints/pattern are just good for your type of plus size. This helps to avoid side to side looks/ view on your appearances. Asymmetrical hemline outfits also help to direct the look upwards.
  • Tops with wide neck line such as the canoe shape ,ballet(slightly shaped beneath the collar bone) are just best.
  • Pockets or any decorative details (embellishments) should be avoided at the bottom area.
  • Flare dresses, A line skirts, palazzo pants also fits well.
  • Plus sized women with pear shape are advised to wear brighter colour on the upper part and dark coloured bottoms

The straight plus-size women have their weights evenly distributed around their bodies. In picking an outfit, the aim is to create curves at the right places.

  • High waisted pencil skirts or pants are just good
  • Vintage kaftan with a high up belt just under the rib cage are awesome for the straight plus sized ladies.
  • Peplum tops/ drsses helps to insinuate a waist
  • Avoid anything straight cut
