Farmers laud Gov Uba Sani for increasing agric budget from N1bn to N74 bn

The All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), Kaduna State Chapter, has commended the Kaduna State Government for leading the way as the first to launch the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zone (SAPZ) in Nigeria.

This was disclosed by its chairman, Alhaji Nuhu Aminu, in a statement made available to journalists in Kaduna on Thursday.

AFAN lauded Governor Uba Sani’s remarkable budgetary increase for agriculture, from N1.4 billion to N74 billion, describing the increase as an example of political will backed by substantial investment.

According to him, “Kaduna’s leadership on this project reflects not just a vision for food security, but a roadmap for economic prosperity and inclusive development.”

He further described Kaduna State as a trailblazer, being the first state to launch the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zone in Nigeria, which he said marked a great day for farmers.

He emphasised the association’s commitment to supporting Kaduna State in agricultural programmes and integrating them with the new processing zones.

“This initiative is not only set to transform agriculture but could also address the problem of financial exclusion we are facing today, as it could now provide access to financial credit for our smallholder farmers,” he disclosed.
