The Bauchi State Ministry of Health, with support from United States Agency for International Development-Integrated Health Programme (USAID – IHP), is organising a 3-day workshop on child spacing costed implementation plan development and review.
The meeting is an initial step towards improving family planning services and the development of the state child birth spacing costed implementation plan (CIP).
Child spacing has been identified as one of the more effective methods to help reduce maternal mortality rates as a solid strategy in the fight against poverty.
According to a statement by Nuru Yakubu Umar, DPRS State Ministry of Health, the maiden CIP was developed in 2018 which has expired in 2020 and need to be reviewed.
He added that although Marie Stopes Nigeria has supported the state with the first phase 2-day review meeting that served as a milestone on the review so far, which will provide direction to the state’s Child Spacing program.

The DPRS stressed that it comprehensively captures services and budgets for all evidence-based high-impact child spacing.
It was in line with the above that it became imperative to organise the 3-day Bauchi state Costed implementation plan development and review meeting, scheduled at Jamil Hotel and Suite, along Jamaare Road Azare.
The meeting date is July 11-13, 2023; however, arrival is on Monday, 10th July, and departure is on Friday 14th.
