Family donates textbooks to SCGGS students in Offa, begs alumni association for development

Family of the late educationist and former principal of Saint Claires Girls Grammar School (SCGGS), Offa in Offa Local Government Area of Kwara State, Chief (Mrs) F. O. Bello, has donated textbooks worth thousands of naira to the school.

Speaking on the occasion which was in collaboration with the school’s old students association, featuring the inauguration of a book foundation in honour of the deceased, a representative of the family, Dr. Kayode Bello, presented 40 English language textbooks to JSS1 students of the institution.

Bello said that the presentation was for a start, adding that the donation will continue until every student in the school has the basic textbooks.

He promised that more textbooks like mathematics, sciences and business studies will be presented next year.

He appealed to all education enthusiasts, members of the alumni association and their spouses to join hands in making the institution great again to enable the students to have access to quality education.

President of Saint Claire’s Grammar School Old Girls Association, Mrs Ayo Olagunju and the secretary, Mrs. Funke Olanrewaju, said Dr. Bello had informed the association that this year will be 10 years that their mother Chief (Mrs.) F.O. Bello died.

Receiving the textbooks on behalf of the students, both the principal of the school, Mrs. G. M. Kolawole and the JSS Principal, Mrs. V. Y. Ajibola expressed gratitude to the donor and promised that the textbooks would be properly used.
