Face of Okija pageant and talent hunt sets agenda

Published by

Obijackson Foundation has announced plans to expand this year’s “Face of Okija Cultural Pageant and Talent Hunt” to include contestants from the entire Anambra state.

The CEO of the Foundation, Prof. Rich Umeh, who was ably represented by The Chief Operating Officer (COO), Dr Frank Odini made this announcement at a press conference held recently in Lagos.

The CEO said that the foundation’s purpose is to expand and give more youths the opportunity to share and imbibe the laudable values of the initiative.

Professor Umeh, who revealed the theme of this year’s event as ‘Re-engineering our Moral Standards’, said that rather than the usual emphasis on beauty in regular pageants, the Face Of Okija pageant seeks to empower youths and promote African values.

“The Face Of Okija Cultural Pageant and Okija Rising Talent Hunt seeks to empower the youths and promote true African values and morals in our youths.

“Participants are expected to display unique African beauty, intelligence and diverse talents,” the CEO said.

Umeh disclosed that the winners of the competition would be offered automatic employment as brand ambassadors for the Foundation with a regular monthly salary for the duration of their reign.

He added that they will also be provided with a chauffeur-driven official car for the duration of their reign and mouth-watering prices for the winner and the two runner ups of the Talent Hunt.

Speaking also, The Project Director, Konnie Agu, who lauded the initiative, said that it will inspire Nigerian youths to imbibe positive African values.

She called upon Anambra youths under the age 26 to give themselves a chance at emerging as King or Queen of the Face of Okija Cultural Pageant by taking part in the competition
