The Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN) has pulled back its help for its presidential candidate, Oby Ezekwesili.
The party announced support for the reelection of President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“The Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN) is withdrawing support for her presidential candidate and supporting the second term offer of President Muhammadu Buhari to take Nigeria to the Next Level,” the party said in an announcement on Thursday.

The ACPN was responding to a choice made on Thursday morning by Mrs Ezekwesili to pull back from the presidential race, following a statement from her campaign organisation.
She said her choice is to help manufacture an alliance to defeat the Alliance Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). This choice, she stated, was taken regardless of opposition from her party.
