Expulsion awaits fresh FUTO students if… —VC

The Senate of Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) has recently approved expulsion as the penalty for first year students involved in examination malpractice.

The Vice Chancellor of FUTO, Professor Francis C. Eze made this known to fresh students at the 35th matriculation ceremony of the university in Owerri, Imo State.

He urged the students to work hard and focus on their studies, so as not to be stripped off the honour of being  students of the  university.

Professor Eze directed them to carefully study the student’s handbook and other manuals in order to be abreast of the university norms, pointing out that FUTO had developed and maintained a robust academic probity that had made it stand the test of time.

He explained they should always strive to make their parents/guardians, who had provided the resources to fund their education, proud, especially with the current precarious economic condition that ravaged the country.

According to him, the management would continue with its decision to interact with the student body at the beginning of every semester, as a way of fostering better understanding between management and students.
