Expert commends military’s joint operations to tackle insecurity in Northwest

A former commandant of the Zamfara State Anti-thuggery agency, Muhammed Bakyasuwa has commended the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa for making an effort for the establishment of Joint Military Theatre Operations in the North West to tackle insecurity in the region.

Bakyasuwa, security expert and the immediate past Commandant, Zamfara Anti Thuggery Agency noted that the ongoing military operations are capable of addressing the security situation that had been bevelling the state and region for over a decade.

In a statement issued on Sunday evening by former commandant Zamfara state Anti thuggery said Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa had recently during his one-day visit to Zamfara state assured that a joint Military Theatre Operation is to be established in the North West region.

“The CDS said the theatre to be named “Operation Fansar Yanma North West”.

He applauded the effort of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) towards the establishment of the theatre command in Zamfara.

“Operation FANSAN YAMMA “to combat the lingering security challenges in the state such as cattle rustling, banditry activities, illegal mining, drug abuse and kidnapping”.

“I believe the proactive approach of military battle formation on the ground will bring about sustainable peace in Zamfara State and the Northwestern region of the country.

“Being a security expert, former Director of Security Matters, and former Commandant Zamfara State Anti Thuggery Agency I appreciate the Nigerian Army over recent breakthrough in the fight against terrorism in the North West region.

He emphasized that the ongoing military operations in the region have yielded positive results.

“I think one of the successes of the ongoing operations is neutralising a wanted terrorist Halilu Sububu among other bandit kingpins”.

“I also commend the entire security agencies in the country for the improved security in the nation, I enjoy our gallant troops to sustain their efforts in restoring peace and stability in the country” he said
