Vice Chancellor of the Delta State Univerity (DELSU), Professor Andy Egwunyenga, on Monday, inaugurated an integrated data centre to ease the processing of students’ transcripts and other e-services.
Nigerian Tribune learnt that there had been complaints over delay in processing transcripts of alumni of the institution such that many had lost overseas admissions due to the delay associated with the process.

He said the centre would cater for the digitisation of transcripts, starting from 2014 to 2021, develop robust e-result engine, digitise bursary services, university registry and train staff on e-management service.
Other functions, according to the don, include develop robust e-memo pad for easy communication, develop robust e-desk customer service system, digitise university library and also extend technical support to other institutions that may consult.
He said transcripts would be ready on demand after submission of relevant documents in 24 hours.
“After submitting all necessary particulars, your transcript would be ready in 24 hours.
“We completed this project in six months and it is already up and doing.
“I commend the resourcefulness of the director, Professor F. I. Arunaye and the other seven members of the staff who would be rewarded,” he noted.
An alumnus of the institution, Mr. Felix Eku, expressed relief at the inaugurated data centre, which he said, would ease the stress of transcripts processing.
“It is a milestone, some alumni members had gone over stress in getting their transcripts. Some missed their admissions.
“But we also have human factor and it means a lot. We hope the human factor will be addressed,” he added.
