On excessive consumption of alcohol

DESPITE the numerous dangers of consuming alcohol, a lot of youths and adults still take it in excess. Alcohol does much harm than good to the body; it destroys some of the vital organs in the body. Due to peer pressure, bad company and improper upbringing, a lot of young boys and girls, even at teenage stage, consume alcohol. Some even go to the extent of taking spirits that are very dangerous.

I would like to say that for youths at least, taking excessive alcohol is an indecent habit and a bad lifestyle; it connotes irresponsibility and recklessness. In a way, it also promotes domestic violence.  There are so many life-threatening diseases related to the excessive intake of alcohol. Aside from health issues, there are so many other bad ways that alcohol affects our being.

When one begins to take too much alcohol, it becomes an addiction. I would also say that our parents should always be conscious of their lifestyle, because they set a pace for their children to follow. Whatever they do, their children tend to do also. Some fathers drink alcohol a lot and when their children see them with such habits, they see it as a normal and good way of life.  Parents are advised to be of good conduct to avoid misleading their children.
