Exam fraud: KWASU VC commends JAMB

VICE chancellor, Kwara State University (KWASU) Malete, Professor Abdulrasheed Na’Allah, has commended the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), saying that there is progress in its activities judged by this year’s results.

Professor Na’Allah, who gave the commendation on the sideline of the inauguration of the KWASU Alumni Association, with Mallam Aliyu Abdulkadir as the new president, said that JAMB was very smarter in getting more people that committed fraud.

According to him, those who sat for JAMB 10 years ago, for example, were far below those who are doing it today, saying that present challenges are greater.

Professor Na’Allah explained that Nigeria especially young people are becoming more of an expert in global technology, adding that, in the electronic, “age you must be smarter than the smart.”

He said that young people’s mind, because of the socioeconomic crises in the nation, is not always towards integrity but towards beating the system.

“I’m very excited that JAMB is at the top of some of the things, as many results have been cancelled. JAMB is very smarter getting more people. We realised that corrupt way is not the way forward I’m hoping that there will be a time in future when everything will be successful. There will be no cancellation of result because everybody would conduct themselves in the best manner possible,” he said.

The Vice Chancellor urged the Alumni association to be a good ambassador of the University, adding that they should not jettison in the area of the award, scholarship, and community development.

He stressed the need for them to remember the University in the area of research and academic development, noting that they should make integrity their watchword.

In his remark, the newly sworn-in president of the association, Aliyu Abdulkadir, who spoke on behalf of other executives, promised to justify the confidence reposed in them.
